No matter what kind of kick you want to get out of Baywatch Hawaii, there’s no denying that there ain’t a better-looking weekend series anywhere. Mitch, Sean, Jason, JD, Kekoa, Allie and a whole series of great co-stars make each adventure very easy on the eye.
Imagine all the sizzle and sex of Baywatch, set in a place where danger, disaster and daring clash remarkably with the most gorgeous beaches, natural forests and lovely rivers ever caught on TV. Headquartered on Oahu’s scenic North Shore, the Baywatch Hawaii team must be ready to respond to any call, which leads them to dramatic rescues throughout the Islands. From Kaui’s rugged mountainous terrain, to Maui’s monstrous waves and the daunting dangers of the Big Island’s active volcanoes, they must face the biggest obstacles of their careers.
Characters
Mitch Buchanan (David Hasselhoff)
Resourceful, charismatic, and kind, Lt Mitch Buchanan, already a familiar character from Baywatch, continues to take his team to new heights. He sets up a state-of-the-art Lifeguard Training Centre for his top colleagues from around the globe, and agrees to a pact that changes everything. In a top-secret deal with the Hawaiian government, Buchanan and his team must serve as a special “strike force,” investigating international crime and putting their lives at great risk. However, Mitch is a figurehead of the Hawaii team, so his appearances are infrequent.
Sean Monroe (Jason Brooks)
The hunky lifeguard Sean Monroe is chosen by Mitch to run the new international lifeguard training centre in Hawaii. Experienced, diplomatic and resourceful, he is a divorcee with a difficult past; and his character comes across as the typically sensitive, tough loner. The team is loyal to him, yet he chooses to stay aloof. An exception to this is Allie, with whom a slow but steady rapport is beginning to develop.
Jack “J D” Darius (Michael Bergin)
J D plays a key role as the team’s organiser, planner and tactician. Behind all the easy charm and jokes, J D is still haunted by a rescue that he missed years ago. As a result, he has made a vow never to let it happen again.
He continuously studies wave charts and pier blueprints, trains intensely, and conducts mock drills to ensure that he is completely familiar with the Hawaii waters. Very driven, he manages to infect everyone else with the same drive. He’s in love with Jessie, but finds that all the beauties in Hawaii, particularly Kekoa, have a very distracting effect!!
Kekoa Tanaka (Stacy Kamano)
Kekoa is a native of Hawaii, and is an extremely competitive lifeguard who knows the local terrain and pushes herself to the limit at every opportunity. Initially she is guarded and defensive with the team that has come from LA, feeling that they are intruders who know very little about Hawaii.
Eventually, however, she begins to work as part of the team. Her exotic looks and fantastic body mean that quite a few of the team, most notably J D, fall in and out of love with her. However, she keeps herself mysteriously aloof.
