About the show

Hum Saath Aath Hain takes a light-hearted look at the life and times of a joint family. Satya Prakash Kapoor, a widower, is a teacher by profession. He has imparted traditional family values to his sons Ram and Laxman. One of Satya Prakash’s major desires in life is to find “ideal Indian bahus” for his sons.

Satya Prakash finds one such woman in Vimmo, who is married to his older son Ram. He is on the lookout for a similar bride for his younger son Laxman.

Laxman, however, convinces his brother to help him marry Nirmala, the woman he loves. She is a US-returned doctor, someone far removed from Satya Prakash’s notion of the ideal daughter-in-law.

Hilarious situations crop up as the family tries to conceal Nirmala’s true identity from Satya Prakash. Eventually, however, he finds out the truth about her and also realises that a modern, working woman can also be an excellent bahu. All that matters are her values.

Hum Saath Aath Hain is a take-off on the typical issues that plague normal families, and resolves each of them in a humorous manner.
