The Norm Show

About the Show
Norm was a professional hockey player whose gambling and tax evasion cost him his job and forced him into community service to avoid jail. The courts have sentenced him to 5 years of community service as a social worker or go prison. Norm chooses what he thinks is the easy option by becoming a social worker. But will he find it that easy to change his scheming ways?
Professional hockey player Norm Henderson (Macdonald) may have had all the moves on the ice, but off it he wasn`t quite so smooth. His gambling and tax evasion catch up with him, and he`s sentenced to community service. He winds up a social worker and finds going head-to-head with bureaucracy is often more painful than a hard check to the gut. His coworker and former counselor (Metcalfe) helps him learn the ropes and proves a reliable friend outside the office.
Enter Laurie and Danny who are Norm`s co-workers and best friends. Both are caring, meticulous, highly skilled workers who are devoted to helping others work out their problems. Outside the office, both Laurie and Danny have their own issues to deal with, including love, friendships and relationships. Along with new officemate Molly, the group must navigate their way through office politics, not the least of which entails dealing with their lackadaisical boss, Mr. Denby. Through it all, Norm`s unique and refreshing attitude causes him to bend–if not break-the rules of the system, always with hilarious and utterly unpredictable results.
